Between Tenderness and Perreo: We Are Building the Future
Some words are born at the margins and, over time, find a way to illuminate everything around them.
Radical tenderness is one of those words.

Rooted in trans, queer, and dissident communities, radical tenderness invites us to understand care not as something secondary or optional, but as a political practice. A way of holding one another in a world that so often pushes us towards competition, isolation, and fear.
Radical tenderness is not about avoiding conflict or softening injustice.
It is about creating spaces where we can exist with dignity. Spaces where we can learn, make mistakes, repair harm, and grow together. Places where care moves beyond individual responsibility and becomes a collective practice.
At TwerkYourLife, we have spent years asking ourselves how to translate this philosophy into movement, pedagogy, and professional training.
And for us, the answer always returns to the body.
When Dance Becomes a Form of Resistance
Twerk is often viewed through the lens of prejudice, reduced to hypersexualisation or spectacle.
Yet those of us who practice it know that it can also be something else.
A tool for reconnecting with our bodies.
A way of reclaiming space.
A practice that helps us move through shame, challenge limiting norms, strengthen self-worth, and build community.
A source of pleasure.
A source of power.
A source of knowledge.
And when twerk meets critical pedagogies, intersectional feminisms, and community-based practices, something much greater than a movement technique begins to emerge.
A tool for social transformation.
A Historic Milestone for TWERKYOURLIFE | La Casa del Ritmo
This is why we are excited to share news that marks a significant moment in our journey.
La Casa del Ritmo has officially been registered as a professional training provider.
This recognition is the result of years of work, research, pedagogical practice, and commitment to creating more inclusive, critical, and transformative spaces.
It is more than an administrative milestone.
It is a step towards recognising forms of knowledge that have historically been excluded from traditional academic institutions. Knowledge that emerges from urban cultures, community practices, feminist movements, and the lived experiences of people who have learned to create safer spaces from the margins.
Twerk Professional Training Through an Intersectional Lens Begins in January 2027
We are currently awaiting final approval from the SOC regarding the accreditation of our Professional Twerk Training Programme Through an Intersectional Lens.
To ensure that the process is completed with all the necessary guarantees and care, we have decided to postpone the start of the programme until:
15 January 2027
We know that many people have been waiting for this training for months, and that is precisely why we want to honour the process.
Because urgency is rarely an ally of transformative work.
Because we believe in doing things well.
Because tenderness also means respecting the time required to build something solid and sustainable.
While we await the final resolution, we have already opened reservations for those who would like to be part of this first cohort.
A programme designed for people who want to professionalise their twerk teaching practice through an intersectional, critical, and socially engaged perspective.
An Essential Resource for People Who Facilitate Learning Processes
At the same time, we continue moving forward with another project that we consider fundamental.
Registration is now open for our online course Applied Intersectional Practice in the Classroom, now renamed:
This programme is designed for teachers, facilitators, artists, educators, social practitioners, and anyone interested in creating more inclusive, accessible, and conscious learning environments.
Throughout the course, participants explore practical tools to identify inequalities, reflect on privilege and power, design accessible learning experiences, and facilitate groups through an intersectional lens.
The current course fee is €300, and for a limited time we are offering a 20% discount on new enrolments.
Because we believe that critical education should not be a luxury. And because we need more spaces where people can learn without reproducing the very harms and inequalities they seek to transform.
Continuing to Dance the World We Want to Live In
At a time when individualism is increasingly presented as the norm, radical tenderness reminds us of something essential:
No one gets free alone.
We need networks.
We need community.
We need spaces where knowledge circulates horizontally and where bodies are recognised as legitimate sites of learning.
That is what we strive to build every day at TWERKYOURLIFE and La Casa del Ritmo.
A place where twerk meets pedagogy.
Where professionalisation does not mean leaving sensitivity behind.
Where rigour and pleasure coexist.
Where care matters just as much as excellence.
And where tenderness remains one of our most powerful tools for transforming the world.
Because somewhere between tenderness and perreo, we are building the future. 💜
